The estate of late rapper Juice WRLD is facing a lawsuit from producer and writer Joshua Jaramillo, who claims he is owed compensation for his contributions to the song "Girl of My Dreams." Initially reported by TMZ, Jaramillo, who is credited as a co-producer and writer on the track, alleges that he entered into an agreement to receive a five percent ownership stake in the song and one percent of the royalties. Despite this agreement, he claims he has not received the full amount owed to him and has filed a lawsuit seeking unspecified damages and a detailed accounting of the song's earnings.

"Girl of My Dreams," which features BTS artist Suga, is a notable track from Juice WRLD's posthumous 2021 album Fighting Demons. The album was released nearly two years after Juice WRLD, born Jarad Higgins, died from an accidental drug overdose at the age of 21.

The lawsuit, filed in a California court, alleges breach of contract and seeks to enforce the agreement that Jaramillo claims was in place. In legal terms, a breach of contract occurs when one party fails to fulfill their obligations as outlined in a contract, which can result in the other party seeking legal remedies, including damages.

Jaramillo's lawsuit is the latest in a series of legal challenges faced by Juice WRLD’s estate regarding compensation for his posthumous releases. Last October, the estate and producer Dr. Luke were sued over another track from Fighting Demons, titled "Not Enough." The plaintiff in that case, PD Beats (real name Pierre Orpheus DeJournette), claimed he had not received his share of the song's earnings and sought to establish equal ownership of the copyrights.
